About Us
Welcome.
Quackers and Hissers was formed to give abandoned ducks a home for the rest of their natural lives. Some of our residents have gone through traumatic experiences and so we try to
provide them with a totally stress-free life where they are loved and cared for with an emphasis on a natural lifestyle.
It all started when an older drake needed a home due to his previous owner wishing to 'move him on' and so we decided that we could provide him with everything he needed. At the time, we had a rescued hen but nothing else and so we brought the drake in and and now Edward has been with us for some time.

Since then several more areas have been built and now Edward lives with two other drakes, Bob and Nipper and have their own natural pool.
Over the years, we have acquired several more ducks and drakes including Muscovies and runner ducks. We also have two geese, but due to limited land, we have no space to take in any more geese.
We do keep a limit to the number of resisdents as we will not overcrowd the area and it can be expensive to run the santuary too. There is still more land we could develop but financial restraint mean that this is a consideration for the future and not on current plans.
Please have a look around the website and if you would like to support us, there are many ways of doing it. We have future plans for the website to allow fostering or sponsoring but for the moment, the easiest way is to donate by using the button below.
All donations go to the sanctuary so you can be sure that you are helping these birds directly.
